Masterclass Contemporary Dance

Nnamdi Nwagwu, an Afro-Italian choreographer and international guest artist, trained at Professione Danza Parma and the Codarts University of the Arts in the Netherlands, further honing his skills with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT).
Winner of prestigious international awards, he has performed at renowned galas around the world, including Mexico, Cuba, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, China, the United States, and France. He collaborates regularly as a guest choreographer with institutions such as the Teatro Regio di Parma, the Korzo Theater and the Teatro Sociale di Como. Since 2021 he has been the resident choreographer of the Parma Ballet.

In 2023 he became the first African-Italian choreographer to create a production for the Stuttgart Ballet. She also collaborated with the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Ballet School and students of the Paris Opera during AI23, where she presented LOLARA in Toronto. That same year, his creation TITO premiered at Lincoln Center in New York, receiving widespread acclaim from American critics.
In 2025, he created two productions: one for the Stuttgart Ballet and the other for the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet, in collaboration with ISH Dance Collective.

Also in 2025 he created a new production for John Neumeier’s Hamburg Ballet School and debuted his first independent production, LE PREFICHE, winner of the call for proposals to establish the ORSOLINA28 Art Foundation.
That same year, Nnamdi was selected as a finalist for the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 award, as one of the most influential artists in his field. Alongside his choreographic career, Nwagwu collaborates as a movement director with international brands such as Vogue, Tod’s, Zalando, Tinder, and Calvin Klein. He continues to work as a choreographer and international guest artist, based in the Netherlands.

Today, he is one of the youngest choreographers on the international dance scene.
