Director of Danza&Danza magazine – Jury member

Maria Luisa Buzzi, journalist, scholar, dance critic and editor. Director of the historic magazine Danza&Danza since 2013 and of the English edition Danza&Danza International launched by her in 2017 with readers all over the world, she has built the first editorial platform in the sector in Italy, combining the paper magazine with digital distribution via app and the bilingual website. As a journalist and dance critic she has collaborated with the Italian Swiss Television, with the monthly lifestyle magazine V&S. Saper vivere, saper viaggiare (Quadratum), with the portal Tgcom (Mediaset), with the German magazine Tanz (Der theaterverlag). A teacher of dance history in various Italian institutions, she regularly holds conferences in Italian theaters and writes programs for Opera-Symphonic Foundations and Festivals. Former Cultrice della Materia for the chair of “Drammaturgia coreutica” at the Catholic University of Brescia, she is the author of essays. She is the President of the Jury of the Danza&Danza Award, founded by Mario Bedendo and Mario Pasi in 1987. For Sky Arte Hub she was a scientific consultant for the documentary series Why do we dance? distributed in five European countries. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Oriente Occidente Festival in Rovereto and of the Scientific Committee for Live Performance of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
