María Ivette González Rodríguez graduated from the National School of Arts in 1978 as Ballet dancer and teacher. Afterwards, she joined the
Camaguey Ballet under the direction of Fernando Alonso during four years where she reached the Soloist Category. She entered The Cuban National Ballet in 1982 under the direction of the Cuban prima ballerina assoluta and choreographer Alicia Alonso. Her training was completed by the Ballet Masters: Fernando Alonso, Alicia Alonso, Josefina
Méndez, Mirtha Plá, Loipa Araújo, Aurora Bosch and José Pares.
