Gianni Notarnicola

Gianni Notarnicola was born in 1996 in Monopoli. He joined the Junior Dance Company of Bari and Malta in 2010, working for Sara Accettura, Osnat Kelner and Kerry Nicholls and danced with Equilibrio Dinamico under the direction of Roberta Ferrara. In 2015 he moved to Milan to work with Matteo Levaggi. He attended the NOD in Turin and subsequently joined the Kibbutz Gaaton Dance Workshop, directed by Einav Levi and Yaniv Abraham. In the years 2017-2018 he worked for various choreographers including Bosmat Nossan, Yaniv Abraham, Guy Shomroni, Eyal Dadon, Jason Danino Holt and Ido Gidron. He danced for the Avshalom Pollak Dance Theater in 2019 and joined the Batsheva Ensemble in 2019 performing works by Sharon Eyal, Nadav Zelner and Noa Zuk. In 2021 he joined the main cast of Batsheva Dance Company. In 2022 he debuted in MOMO as a dancer and co-collaborator.
In his country of origin, mainly in Southern Italy, Gianni has always held dance lessons and has given voice to his creativity, debuting in 2018 as a choreographer with his solo KAMA, drawing inspiration for his creations from the state of mind of he. In the following years Gianni revived KAMA and created THE BATTLE, a duet performance with the Israeli cellist Eilon Damari. Simultaneously with his solo creations, in 2022 Gianni began a collaboration with Billy Barry creating the duet B.O.A.T.S. and, in 2023, the duet G.O.A.T.S, both of which premiered at the Tel Aviv Dance Festival.
Gianni is currently a dancer for the Batsheva Dance Company, with which he performs works by Ohad Naharin all over the world.
