HEDERA is an experimental project that merges dance and cinema with the aim of using dance as a tool for investigation, rediscovery and sharing of the cultural and landscape heritage of Basilicata.

The Lucanian dancers of the Lucanian Ballet Company, trained in Basilicata and now active professionals at an international level, immerse themselves in some places in the area, as if responding to a call from their land of origin or adoption. Their perception and interpretation of this experience is captured in video documentaries by Lucanian director Angelo Chiacchio, and elaborated in a live show under the choreographic direction of Loredana Calabrese.

In line with the artistic vision of the Company, the project aims to use the Lucanian cultural heritage and landscape heritage as material for artistic creation. Furthermore, the project aims to enhance the personal and professional journey and growth of the performers, who use their artistic maturity to rediscover and tell their story, their land, their history and ultimately themselves.
