Erika Spaltro

Teacher・Aerial dance

Born in Rome, she began her studies in Classical and Modern Dance at the age of 3, immediately showing that she was a versatile, charismatic dancer with a great temperament, ranging with professionalism from one role to another. She obtained a degree from the National Dance Academy in Rome. She studies and perfects her skills between Italy and abroad; at the basis of her training, we find artists of high caliber, including Margherita Parrilla, Raffaele Paganini, Andrè De La Roche, Garrison Rochelle, Frédéric Olivieri, Daniele Baldi. Her immense passion leads her to feel the need to study and experiment with the most varied artistic disciplines. She began studying Contemporary Dance at the IDA in Ravenna, which pushed her to delve into “contact improvisation”, so much so that she went as far as Prague and Zurich. She continues her experimentation at the “Ecole Internationale de Danse de Cannes ‘Rosella Hightower’”. Curious about the world of so-called Street Dance, she subsequently approached the study of Locking, Popping, and Break Dance, or the entire world of Hip Hop. Still thirsty for knowledge, she undertakes the study of Aerial Dance: her training, therefore, allows her to combine the spectacular nature of Aerial Dance with the sensitivity of the gesture of Contemporary Dance, thus creating a personal choreographic style that combines the power of the earth with the suggestions of aerial acrobatic work. She is a ballet coach, freelance teacher, and choreographer in Italy and abroad, founder and art director of the “HBD Company – Experimental Group”. She teaches at numerous national and international events, such as “Fini Dance New York”, “Eolie Dance Festival”, “Fini Dance Winter Intensive”, “Fini Dance Summer Intensive”, “Una Calabria d’Artisti”, … Artistic Director of the Project of Advanced Contemporary Dance Training “RESEARCH” and Artistic Director of “THAT’S AMORE… Experimental Workshop”. Her preparation also leads her to collaborate as a journalist and sector specialist for important dance newspapers and magazines. She is currently Artistic Director of the Hale Bopp Dance Study Center and Regional Head of the C.S.A. Dance Sector in Calabria.
